Pregnancy Journey

Since starting on my pregnancy journey 3 1/2 months ago, I have experienced a lot of ups and downs physically. With my first pregnancy I was tired, however I never really had any negative issues with food.

This time around (although I am thankful for not being so physically ill that I had to throw up) I have experienced NON- STOP NASEAU!! YUCK!! Which for someone who's like me and like to eat has been difficult to deal with.

The first trimester I could not find anything to really settle my stomach. I tried all food, good and bad and nothing seemed to help. I was beginning to wonder if this would go on through the duration of my pregnancy, but thankfully as I entered the 2nd trimester I have been blessed with a new settled tummy!! Yay!!

Now that I am in the 2nd trimester, not only is my tummy feeling better, but now I have more energy as well!! I am so happy to be able to workout again! Although I am not really interested in doing the harder workouts I once did pre-pregnancy, like Turbo Fire, P90X... I have moved on to a less strenuous workout designed to help me with flexibility and keeping my strength up. "Yoga Booty Ballet Baby on the Way" is what is on the schedule for the duration of my pregnancy, along with a little regular Yoga Booty Ballet (until my belly is larger), and walking...

I am not sure how women manage to run during pregnancy? As everything can be really uncomfortable. Just the other day, I lightly jogged to catch up to my husband and son at the soccer field, and felt as if my BOOBS WOULD EXPLODE and my belly felt as if it was 10x's its usual size! OMG it hurt so bad with all the tenderness and soreness going on as everything gets bigger. Yowza!! If you can run while pregnant more power to ya! But this momma is gonna have to take the slower route. ;)

It was really nice going to the Zoo last week. I actually had energy through the whole day. Didn't get out of breath walking up the hills or anything. It almost felt like I was the pre-prego me! I just hope this new energy holds out for a while. I know the 3rd trimester usually slows things down again, but I will take what I can get, even if it only last a few months.

Along with the energy, I am also able to eat better!! Which it is a good feeling to want to eat better again! I have been able to eat more salads and fruit, as well as making smoothies, and drinking my Shakeology again!! Another thing I have had to do is re-incorporate enzymes back into my daily diet. This pregnancy has really slowed my digestion process down, so the enzymes are helping to break down the food as well as helping with transit time. Which is a HUGE blessing! Also it seems to help with GAS, which I seem to be full of! Burping and Farting seem to be par for the coarse. Sign... Fortunately my family thinks its funny and so we always get a good giggle out of it.

So far my belly has not gotten too big. I am still in regular clothes, which is good. But things are starting to get tight. My son is chomping at the bit to see the "BIG BELLY" as it is not growing as fast as he would like. I keep telling him to be patient. "The BIG BELLY" will be here soon enough. For me I am content to stay in regular clothes for as long as I can. But that is coming to an end as I quickly enter the 4th month.

I am starting up a Pregnancy Fitness Support Group for anyone who would like to stay active during their pregnancy. We will all be using "Yoga Booty Ballet Baby On The Way". It will be nice to share experiences with other pregnant Mommies, and help support one another as energy levels go up and down and food cravings come and go. If you would like to join the group message me. I have a facebook invite I will send you with all the details.

Pregnancy!!

Since becoming pregnant a few months ago, it seems my world has been turned up side down. My expectations of myself have had to change, as my energy levels have been all over the place, and the nausea is horrible. I can't seem to get a grip on food at the moment. I will get a craving, eat it and then be very let down to find that I really didn't want what I thought I did. Sigh... For someone who was in a good place with food before the pregnancy, this has been difficult to deal with. Nothing seems to make me feel better. BLAH!!

My last pregnancy was 10 years ago. Although I struggled with energy levels during that pregnancy, it was not quite this bad and I really never was sick in my stomach at all. So this experience is a whole new ball of wax for me.

As a fitness Coach this has made my life a little bit more difficult. As I want to remain a good example of health, fitness and nutrition for the people I work with. I am just starting to get a handle on all the changes that my body is currently going through, so I can be more consistent and realistic with my own expectations of myself.

Since I know my energy levels tend to dip, my fitness schedule is now changing to every other day. I am still going to do the occasional Turbo Fire routine (when I feel up to it), but have opted to be more consistent with my Brazil Butt Lift program for the next few months. BBL will help keep my weak areas sculpted and toned, while helping me to burn fat, without causing me to use all my energy stores and become a slug for several days afterward. LOL!!

With nutrition I have had to change my supplement routine. I love Shakeology, but it is not hitting the mark like it used to. So I only drink it a few times a week and supplement with a pre-natal when I don't drink it. Man I can't wait for these weird food issues to go away!! Lord I hope they don't last the entire pregnancy!

Besides the few problems I am running into, I am loving being pregnant again. Watching the changes that are happening to my body is always really neat! I am so glad that this time around I am in a much healthier place. My last pregnancy I was already packing on the fat, and this time around things are going much better in that area! Yay!!

Do you have a proper Support System?

Having the proper support system in place is key to helping yourself succeed in all your goals. Do you find that you tend to be a loner? Why is that? Maybe you should ask yourself that question and really dig down deep. For each of us there are different reasons, but most of it stems from old past history of people letting us down in one fashion or another..

I used to be a loner because I had lost trust in others around me. But what I started to find out was that I was putting my trust into the wrong kind of people. Not everyone deserves our trust, but it is important to find good solids folks to stand with you when times get hard. And good people do still exist!! You just have to be on the look out for them.

My own lack of trust in people is why for years I was let down time after time, which eventually led to a very negative perception of people in general. Thankfully once I saw what I was doing, and who I was choosing to put my faith in, it was much easier to find those who were trustworthy.

Maybe its time for you to start trusting people again. Start to take a look at the people around you and choose wisely. Choose only those that are worthy of your trust. People who have been in your shoes and have been able to turn their lives around. Choose positive people. Not ones that will drag you down or hold you back. And choose those who have worked hard to gain what they have. They are the ones who will be able to answer those hard questions. Last but not least choose people who really genuinely care about you, and where you are going in your life.

Me time!!

Have you ever had issues with your health because you go and go until you end up sick and in bed? You have to find time to rest. I don't just mean getting to bed at a reasonable hour (although that is part of it), I mean that you need to take some time to yourself regularly.
How many hours a day do you actually work? Do you need to work less but work smarter? Try taking more time to take care of yourself.

Here is what I recommend:
Start your day with your workout. Get that out of the way and begin your day with a success. You have truly proven that your health is a priority if you will make this change in your life. I know it's hard at first, but you will be surprised how you can make this a lifelong habit if you make the decision to do this.

Next I want you to consider your time for yourself. Do you take time away from your normal environment? Maybe you should take some time to go to the beach, a lake, park, or go for a hike at least once a week. Time away enables you to get perspective, to free your mind from the usual chatter that can keep you from being productive.

So make sure you take time to yourself, time to meditate, time with God that will renew your spirit, help you to feel more energized and bring you the ability to move forward with new enthusiasm.

Another benefit of doing this is that the obstacles that seemed to be looming large will often diminish when you are removed from them for a while. Sometimes, that is all you need to overcome those daunting issues - a little perspective.

Plan your "me" time for the next week in your calendar NOW!

Stay True to YOU!!

In life there are low maintenance people and there are high maintenance people. We need to be around people that support us as much as we support them. Finding a relationship where you can truly trust someone is hard but very important.

You want to be with people like you who are dreamers that want more out of life. Thi
nk of it like you are putting together a team. People don't realize the type of people they are hanging out with until they start having some success. There will be people in your life who will say you are changing but they have no desire for more or to change and grow in their own lives. They are uncomfortable watching you grow because it points out the lack of growth and effort in their own lives.

There is nothing you can do about the people in your life who don't want to change. The important thing is not to let them hold you back. As you make new relationships, be mindful of the people you choose to spend your time with. Do the people you spend time with have enthusiasm and joy in their lives or do they constantly complain? Building a business is hard, it takes a lot of determination to stay positive and motivated and nothing will deflate you faster than spending time with someone who drains you by complaining all the time.

Remember they say you are the average of the 5 closest people you spend time with. Take a good look around you and ask yourself if you need to spend your time with more integrity driven people. You have the DNA (Determined Natural Ambition), but not everyone else does. Make sure you spend time each week with other DNA people.

Stay True to YOU!
